#口语喵第 36 期 Day 3# I think that student should attend the community service.
Community service could be a good opportunity to make students keep a close touch with society. They can absorb knowledge different from what they have learnt in school. In this way, they can learn about the real situation of society and put them in a right position after graduation.
Also, they can find a career direction, since in the community service, they can discover the real demands. say my friend, peter who has design an app to report the position of customs’goods having reached. And this app has gain a lot of investments. He once told me, his idea coming from an opportunity to offer community service.

I argue that this is a good idea. Because university students need to do some social practice and this programme is a wonderful chance for us. We can get some social experience by it. We need to talk with strangers , help other people and learn to do something what we can’t before. These are good for our future. The community service also can help somebody who need to help. Like elder people or children. We can practice ourself and other people can get help. So I think it is necessary for us. Although 40 hours per year may occupy our learning time. School can plan a reasonable schedule to resolve this problem.

My middle school is also executing this rule, so I'm pretty sure what will the result be like. Personally, I think this plan will be successful. Doing community service is a good way to relax and learning experience. I mean, since students are all busy with their school work, it's pleasant to take a break and do some volunteer works. I still remember the time I was guiding some freshmen in my school. I took them around and introduced every part of my school. I got a great sense of proud and be more experienced in guiding people. [br]For the only disadvantage, regulating the hour we must do makes this project like a mission, which is likely to reduce our enthusiasm to help the society. But as a warmhearted person, it doesn't matter to me.

From where I stand, this programme is imcomplete and improper.[br]To begin with, maybe most people argue that it is advantageous to cultivate a fully–developed man with spirit of devoting to society. But such compulsory order probably change its original purpose, I mean, people will do community service merely for finishing it. For example, a majority of students around me simply do community services such as helping caring the elderly in nursing homes or teaching children in orphanages when they are going to graduate for adding something on their resumes. Mostly they are ill–prepared to help people, and actually their efforts effect little.[br]Simply to say, 40-hour commumity service may build a good reputation for an university, but the more important thing for students is, persistance. Thus, at least now, the programme seems not reasonable.

In my opinion, community service can benefit students a lot. It is helpful for students to release pressure. For example, I participated a service to communicate and take care of the old. I really enjoyed connecting with the old because I could listen to different amazing stories from them. These conversations help me escape from the tedious lectures and feel relaxed. But community service may also has disadvantages. If students spend 40 hours on community service per year, they will definitly focus less on academic study. However, students can learn more knowledge out of the class and since community service helps students be less tension, students tend to increase their study efficiency. That's why I think students should be required to do community service.

As far as I'm concerned,I agree with this plan ,may be some people would think that college students should pay all attention to their studies and it's a waste of time to do community service.but nowadays,the universities should not only teach them knowledge, but also help them adapt to society.So community service is necessary.through the community service,students will get to know the real society and learn to help each other.they will meet all kinds of people and solve problems by themselves.what's more,during the busy learning schedule, community service is also a way for them to relax,much less that everyone has an obligation to do community service.
